With just a few days to go before the July 26th premiere of E!’s “I Am Cait,” it’s to be expected that Caitlyn Jenner would be feeling some pressure. But just how much pressure was revealed in a short clip on the network’s website today.
In the nocturnal confessional, Jenner speaks to the camera from her bed and reveals: “I feel bad that especially these young people are going through such a difficult time in their lives. We don’t want people dying over this. We don’t want people murdered over this stuff.”
In the same brave spirit demonstrated in her recent ESPY Award acceptance speech for her Arthur Ashe Courage Award, Jenner added: “What a responsibility I have towards this community. Am I going to do everything right? Am I going to say the right things? Do I project the right image?” We don’t have to wait to see the show’s Sunday premiere to know the answer to all of the above is yes. Being the face of America’s Transgender Revolution isn’t an easy task—but we’ve never seen a challenge that Jenner couldn’t conquer.
